Summary: | 碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 休閒與遊憩管理學系 === 105 === There are 740 road running race events held in 2015, means 14.2 events happened per week everywhere in Taiwan, road running is really trending right now in Taiwan, that there are high density of people who are passionate on marathon running. Many businesses want to jump on the bandwagon of sponsoring running events to boost their image, but the commercialization of some road running races poses a threat to the sport’s development in Taiwan. There is a saying on the opposite indicated that these races could also be a good chance to increase the popularity of sports lover as well as to improve the professional management and the ability to hold ultra sport events in Taiwan.
The Chio-Tian Folk Drums & Arts Troupe carried the San-tai-zi idol to compete in the ultramarathon in the Sahara Race (Namibia), one of the 4 Deserts Race Series, which is widely recognized as the most prestigious outdoor footrace series in the world. Competitors in the races traverse 250 kilometers in seven days over rough country terrain with only a place in a tent and water provided. Chio-Tian’s team members carried the San-tai-zi idol in turns, supported each other, all of them survived the death challenge proudly. After this epic mission, the team decided to devote themselves and share their experiences of the ultramarathon, carrying drums to travel round the island on foot, or climbed Mt. Jade with their drums ten years ago to help the youngers. The The Chio-Tian’s CupTour De Taiwan Ultramarathon therefor arisen in 2013.
This research is based on the study of 4 years of Chio-Tian’s Cup, and took the 4th race event in 2016 for case studying, exams the context of if it’s truly helpful to the youngers by holding the ultra sports events in Taiwan, whether strengthen their will, or to complete their rites of passages, and to accomplish their Self-fulfilment.
