It may aim for the children, however, its tasks are for adults. With the proper guidance of correct doctrines, children can thoroughly reflect on themselves and their relation with the world and live a true religious life of believing, thinking and acting. The focus of this study is to shape children’s theological thinking through a theatrical approach. Thus, the study hopes that, within the theatric atmosphere, children can be guided by their adult mentors to conduct theological thinking. Children can build up their ability of discernment through the process of learning how to think theologically, which is a significant foundation in their spiritual development. This study is conducted with eight courses of systematic theology (e.g., the doctrine of God, Christian anthropology, hamartiology, Christology, pneumatology, soteriology, ecclesiology, eschatology). All eight courses were carried out in a Baptist Church in Xinzhu with a follow up questionnaire distributed to the students and teachers along with the author’s observation. The result shows that theatrical approach is an effective way of passing on theological theme and guiding children to think theologically. Moreover, it not only helped the teacher’s familiarity with the topics and content of the curriculum, but also displayed that the children also showed capability of basic theological thinking through participating the curriculum.
