In order to improve the quality of the environment, the health and well-being of the people, maintain environmental resources and pursue sustainable development, Taiwan Basic Environment Act was promulgated and effected in 2002. Environmental Protection Administration in 2010, declared voluntary commitment to reach a 30% reduction of total emissions of greenhouse gas emissions less than the baseline in 2020. In general, reducing the impact of greenhouse effect and carbon reduction policy has been the key environmental policy. However, there has not been a rigorous study of greenhouse gas emissions reduction mechanism. Therefore, this study adopted literature review method, reviewing research reports, national energy policy, government white paper and other related information, in proposing an improvement mechanism to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. A leisure hotel was used as a case study, and the solar photovoltaic module was installed on the roof of the hotel. The greenhouse gas inventory of carbon dioxide (CO2) was carried out before and after the installation of the solar photovoltaic module. The results of this study demonstrated that the case hotel specifically reduces greenhouse gas (carbon dioxide) emissions after installing a solar photovoltaic module on the roof. In addition, the results of this research will help governments and industry to understand the important factors of reduction and provide concrete GHG emission reductions as well as the basis for the future construction of leisure hotel facilities to facilitate national energy policy.
