Description
Summary:博士 === 南臺科技大學 === 電機工程系 === 105 === Kiribati is an isolated island and therefore its power network is categorized as an isolated micro-grid. This PhD dissertation is focusing on planning and analyzing the operation of this isolated micro-grid with a connected PV distribution generation. This study emphasizes the used of the photovoltaic distributed generation (PVDG) as a renewable energy source on an isolated micro-grid. In order to maximize the benefit from this PVDG project on this remote island, this dissertation proposes the numerical search scheme (NSS) to identifying its best size and location on the micro-grid. In addition to that, this dissertation also proposes a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to maximize the annual profit savings from the power loss reduction. Furthermore, the ANN algorithm is also utilized in this dissertation to provide prediction model of this study PVDG as a tool for local energy planner. To know the impact of PVDG on the micro-grid operation, the transient stability analyses due to various disturbances are executed using Cyme PSAF software. In addition, a battery energy storage system (BESS) is installed to improve the operation of the grid. The results indicate that the found PVDG size and location on the micro-grid has attained a maximum benefit and fits well with its power flow and dynamic response.
