碩士 === 南臺科技大學 === 電機工程系 === 105 === The prevalence of dementia in Taiwan is increasing rapidly, so the understanding of physical and mental status of the elderly is a priority for healthcare. In this study, we developed a Network Family Album for the elderly, by detecting the behavioral response when they look at these photos. We can understand that their familiarity with family or friends, and also his cognitive abilities. The system has the following functions: (A) Photo Archiving and Manipulation: Brief graphic user interface for family members that can easily network upload at any time. (B) Facial Recognition and Locating: Using EMGUCV image processing library for face recognition and location calibration, then insert the relevant data into the database. (C) Database Management: Administrator, family members, and elderly have different authorities. (D) Response and Recording: the system will individually record the time for period of choosing and answering. Currently, there are two subjects, one with good cognitive performance and the other with dementia, were enrolled in the test. The system recorded the accuracy of identity, choosing time and answering time as the following medical tracing and living care. The preliminary results show that the performance of the elderly with better cognitive ability is higher than that of the Dementia elderly. After using the system, their emotion have been improved, and the records can truly reflect their cognitive ability. Besides, they can through the interaction with the family to enhance their well-being.
