The first antenna design, a miniaturized USB dongle antenna is designed for GSM/ DCS/PCS/UMTS/LTE band. The overall dimensions 55 × 12 × 1.6 mm3 contain an antenna portion of 20 × 12 × 1.6 mm3. The antenna design with coupled-fed and two arms are on the front side and a meandered arm extended from the front side by via is on the back side. The arms resonance of the bands, including: GSM900 (0.89 — 0.96 GHz), GSM1800 (1.71 — 1.99 GHz), DCS (1.71 — 1.88 GHz), PCS (1.85 — 1.99 GHz), UMTS (1.92 — 2.17 GHz), LTE2300.
In the second antenna design, a design of small-size three ports MIMO antennas is proposed and investigated, the 5.15 — 5.35 GHz operation band can be obtained in a small-size of 50 × 30 × 1.6 mm3. The three monopoles are located as the right, the middle and the left side of the top edge of the design. Two L-shaped strips protruded from the ground and four inverted L-shaped strips extended from the ground is introduced to the design for enhancing isolation between them and impedance matching.
Third, a design of Broadband Three-element MIMO antennas applied to IEEE 802.11 ac applications is proposed and developed. The 5 — 6 GHz operation band can be obtained in a small-size of 30 × 30 × 1.6 mm3. There monopole antennas are adopted and located in three notch on the ground plane with square shape. The three monopole antennas are inverted-L shaped, and two inverted-Z shaped ones. The metal surrounded the monopoles are used to enhance isolation between them and impedance matching.
