Description
Summary:博士 === 世新大學 === 傳播研究所(含博士學位學程) === 105 === Under The China Press In the 1960s, the construction of nation-building as “Malaysian Malaysia” seemed to be successful. However, it was actually the reflection of Malay community’s single perspective. This nation-building process involved several strategies, such as Commemorative Special Issue in Independence Day, a series report of North Borneo and so on to consolidate the image of Malaysia in the Chinese elite community. However, all these images only appeared to be superficial as the Chinese based “The China Press” could not provide advice and criticism to the English and Malay based federal government and therefore could not fight for fair right of Chinese society. In addition, the facing domestic worries and overseas threat only accomplished the formation of Malaya Communist, the left party, and the very same characters of common enemies in the process of making Malay to Malaysia. After successfully removing the power of communists and the left, the Chinese influence of politics in Malaysia was decreasing followed by the creation of a regime of Malay’s Malaysia.
