Description
Summary:碩士 === 國防大學政治作戰學院 === 心理碩士班 === 105 === The aim of this study is to investigate the interaction of adjustment to cancer and physical symptoms in predicting health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and post-traumatic growth (PTG) among breast cancer patients which is based on their physical symptoms to predict and investigate the correlation between HRQOL and PTG via patients’ adjustment to cancer. In addition, it also examined whether adjustment to cancer moderates relationships between physical symptoms and both HRQOL and PTG. Total 98 survival breast cancer patients from Koo Foundation Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Canter were selected, and all data was accessed via the Min-Mac Scale, Physical Status Checklist, SF-36 Standard Version, and Post-traumatic Growth Inventory. The results of this study were as followings: 1. There were significant in terms of correlations between patients’ mental adjustment to cancer and HRQOL. 2. Negiative emotion (NE) and one of Positive attitude (PA), Fatalism were associated with two of the PTG scores, Self and Spiritual, therefore, there was no correlation between Cognitive Avoidance (GA) and any of the PTG scores. 3. Breast cancer patients’ physical status was a predictive factor to HRQOL, and Helplessness-Hopelessness (HH) and CA were also two predictive factors to HRQOL. 4. One of breast cancer patients’ mental adjustments to cancer, CA, has moderating effect on the physical status between one of PTG factors, Self, and HH also has moderating effect on the physical status between one of PTG factors, Spiritual. According to the research results above and limitations, some suggestions were given to the future research about patients’ mental adjustment to cancer.
