Abstract
This dissertation inquiries into the military philosophy of Six Secret Teachings, including its ideas of benevolence and righteousness, the doctrine of just war, the theory of enriching people, the complete victory strategy, and the idea of national military force.
The first chapter introduces the goal of this research, investigates the text, Six Secret Teachings, and reviews the literature. Secondly, the dissertation discusses the idea of “just war” in Six Secret Teachings. The strength of collective economy, highlighted as the backup for national military force, is explicated in the third chapter. The strategy of the so-called “complete victory” that the author of Six Secret Teachings emphasized is interpreted and the fourth chapter aims at explaining the principle of international wars and diplomatic tactics. At last, the five chapter presents a concluding remark and critically reviews the various doctrines in Six Secret Teachings under philosophical perspective.
