Differences across “background variables” and the correlation between “donation behavior” and “well-being” were further analyzed. The questionnaire survey method was adopted. The subjects were citizens in Greater Taipei who were above 15 years old and had made a donation before. Using “purposive sampling” method, a total of 500 valid responses were expected. With the sample, differences in “donation behavior” and “well-being” across background variables could be analyzed. The research instrument consisted of three parts, including “Basic data of the participant”, “Questionnaire on donation behavior”, and “Questionnaire on well-being”. The collected responses were analyzed with SPSS 20.0 using descriptive statistics, independent-sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe's post-hoc comparison, and Pearson product-moment correlation. The results were as follows: 1. Among the dimensions of donation behavior, citizens in Greater Taipei area scored highest in the “altruistic” dimension, which was followed by the “egoistic” dimension. In overall well-being, the score for the “interpersonal relationship” dimension was the highest, followed by “life satisfaction” and “self-recognition”, with the score for “physical and mental health” being the lowest. 2. The “donation behavior” of citizens in Greater Taipei area varied significantly at .05~.001 by gender, education degree, monthly income, and whether the donation is anonymous or not. 3. The “well-being” of citizens in Greater Taipei area varied significantly at .05~.001 by age, area of residence, education degree, marital status, job status, monthly income, intention to increase donation when the income increases, intention to donate when the income decreases, donation method, and non-fixed amount of annual donation. 4. A best significantly positive correlation between “donation behavior” and “well-being” was observed, suggesting that people who more agreed to “donation behavior” tended to have a higher level of “well-being”. Finally, based on the results, suggestions for government departments, non-profit organizations, the Greater Taipei area citizens and future researchers were proposed.
