The industry of drone has become more popular than before, so searching and analyzing patents of drone becomes much more important and necessary. The purpose of this study is to understand the current status of enterprises and academic institutes by using patent analysis, and try to find the technology gaps, and to look forward to boost the patent promotion. Finally, it is to make the patented technology more useful. This study has discovered circumstances of the patents owned by enterprises and academic institutes and has found the international patent classification (IPC) of each technology category of drone. The IPC is used in many patent systems in the world. This study has also analyzed patent application trend, and technology tracking and forecasting. It is more efficient to invent through patent search if we can control the specified IPC.
