Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 營建工程系 === 105 === In Taiwan, chloride attack causes a significant threat to RC buildings in the marine environment. The attack has the negative impact on safety and serviceability of buildings, especially in longer service period. This research will focus on the RC building in Taiwanese coastal region. The study divides Taiwan to eight zones with chloride attack issue and establishes an empirical prediction model for chloride concentration based on factors including atmospheric corrosion, environment, and distance from the coastline. In order to detect the content of chloride on the reinforcing bars surface, the study will apply airborne chloride regression equation to predict an amount of airborne chlorides. The next step is to obtain the surface chloride content based on the relationship between airborne chlorides content and surface chloride content. Furthermore, applying Fick’s Second Law of Diffusion to predict the chloride content on the reinforcing bars surface. According to the reliability theory, this study will consider uncertainties in the chloride diffusion equation. Using reliability analysis and design to obtain the probability and reliability index of chloride induced corrosion. Finally, the study will define a target reliability index to recommend the minimum required concrete cover thickness and eventually improve safety and serviceability of RC buildings in Taiwan.
