It is very important to do sales projection and real time cost control. To achieve that goal effectively. A company needs an integrated platform to collect manufacturing cost- related data so as to adjust cost elements based on sales situation changes at any moment. This paper is proceeding as case of Harvard. It starts by the truth that executives cannot immediately make the right decision due to the lag and distortion of information. After analyzing the case, we will find that the management problems faced in the most of enterprises: a pattern of inertia operations, from plant director to operators. The path dependence phenomenon, or the general lack of responsibility and empowerment of the concept happens due to lack of the spirit to find out the true cause of what goes wrong. To solve this problem, as the role of information technology sector, in addition to train the information users to be capable of using the information system in the right way to completely understand the factors affecting operation performance of plant, we also need to promote organizational agility by information technology through integrating the modularized heterogeneous systems into the business intelligence system (BI). On the base of integrated BI system, we apply forecasting techniques to let managers be able to see the manufacturing cost trends and simulate manufacturing cost to the end of month at any moment in that month. This paper also explores the challenges to overcome and management applications of distance management in the organization.
