Multiple indicators are used to analyze the issue. These indicators include: the number of forward citations, the number of backward citations, the number of non-patent references, the number of patent families, the number of claims, the number of inventors, the examination time, the maintained rate, the rate of claiming priority from a provisinaol application and the rate of involving litigations. It is found that there are statistically significant differences for the two types of patents in the following seven variables: (1) number of forward citations, (2) number of backward citations, (3) number of patent families, (4) examination time, (5) maintained rate, and (6) rate of involving litigations. It is also found that there are no statistically significant differences for 802.11 stanard essential patents and non-802.11 standard essential patents in the following three variables: (1) number of non-patent references, (2) number of claims, (3) number of inventors, and (4) the rate of claiming priority from a provisinaol application. Accordingly, it is concluded that 802.11 standard essential patents have better patent performance than non-802.11 standard essential patents. 呂學士 陳達仁 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 112 zh-TW |

碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 電子工程學研究所 === 105 === The object of this study is to use the US Patent Application Database to identify the characteristics of IEEE 802.11 stadard essential patents to determine whether 802.11 stanard essential patents have better patent performance than non-802.11 standard essential patents. Multiple indicators are used to analyze the issue. It is found that there are statistically significant differences for the two types of patents in the following seven variables: (1) number of forward citations, (2) number of backward citations, (3) number of patent families, (4) examination time, (5) maintained rate, and (6) rate of involving litigations. Accordingly, it is concluded that 802.11 standard essential patents have better patent performance than non-802.11 standard essential patents.
