The research objects are the parents’ father and mother of autistic children with semi-structured interview via qualitative research method. After analysis and induction, here are the conclusions: 1. The parent’s parenting attitude: (1) On learning aspect, the autistic childern’s father authoritarian attitude is “high demand low feedback”. On living aspect, the autistic childern’s father neglectful attitude is “ low demand low feedback”. (2) On learing aspect, the autistic childern’s mother attitude from “authoritarian” to “indulgent” indicates the change from “high demand low feedback” to “low demand high feedback”. On living aspect, the autistic childern’s mother authoritative attitude is “ low demand low feedback”. 2. The parent’s pressure most focus on autistic childern’s learning and living, especially self-stimulatory behaviors on daily life. 3. The response for the autistic childern’s parents dealing with the parenting pressure: (1)The response for the autistic childern’s father dealing with the parenting pressure is “emotion-focused” which comes negative result via passive-participation and negative-pessimism. (2) The response for the autistic childern’s mother dealing with the parenting pressure is “problem-focused” which bring positive result via positive-optimistic way to face the problem. The researcher would like to provide the suggestion and conclusion based on the results of the analysis to the autistic childern’s parent, government and future analysis for further reference. Abstract
The purpose of the research is to explore the attitude, stress and the strategies used to deal with the stress inside the autistic children’s parents.
