Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 進修部暑期文化資源與休閒產業碩士專班 === 104 === Recently, travel and tourism industry is growing fast and plays an important role in the economic development. The independent travel progressively becomes the main manner for overseas travel. This research was to explore the personality traits, constraints to travelling, and willingness to engage in overseas independent travel of male teachers. In addition, the influences of personality traits and constraints on willingness to travel were discussed as well. A survey questionnaire with purposive sampling method was employed.The data were collected from 535 male teachers of Sanxia and Yingge districts in New Taipei City and analyzed with SPSS18. The findings are as following: 1. The background information of male teachers on personality traits, travel constraints, and the willingness to travel shows significant differences. 2. The personality traits, “open-minded” and “outgoing,” positively impact the willingness to engage in overseas independent travel. 3. The travel constraint, “family/ economy,” negatively influences the willingness to engage in overseas independent travel.
