Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中科技大學 === 應用日語系日本市場暨商務策略碩士班 === 105 === Japanese agriculture and agricultural companies are dealing with new challenges: a shrinking domestic market which is a result of the low birth rate and rapidly aging population, the decreasing of agricultural population and the competition with imports. Referring to these challenges, Japanese experts suggest some solutions: the corporatization of agriculture may solve the problem of agricultural population’s decreasing; export could create new market; international competition may enable survival farmers to increase their farm’s scale. Following the suggestions, this research introduces a successful case of Japanese agricultural company’s overseas investment in Taiwan. With the historical background of Japanese colonial period, Taiwanese is highly familiar with Japanese food. Moreover, Taiwan government’s recent policy of building agricultural park provides Japanese agricultural companies a good opportunity to set up subsidiaries. Then, this research demonstrates HOKUTO Corporation’s Investment in Pingtung Agricultural Biotechnology Park as the case study. This research analyzes the success of HOKUTO Corporation’s Investment in Taiwan by using secondary data and author’s interview in HOKUTO Corporation’s office in Tokyo.
