| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 民俗藝術與文化資產研究所 === 105 === The master’s thesis is focused on exploring issues with one of the world heritages - “The Historic Centre of Macao” during the 12-year time starting from 2005, which is the year Macau became one of the world heritage, until now. The aim of the thesis is to find out the city development and society change after Macau became the world heritage, proceed by investigating different aspects and issues, such as policy implementation, cultural identity building, influences in travel industry, changes of public area and skyline in the city.
Reviewing different economic policies after Macau becoming one of the world heritages to analyze if the development of world’s heritage and its outstanding universal value are affected by the economic policies of Macau and to view the interrelationships of the world heritage in Macau and city development. Analyze the threat and influences and the reason why “Macao Historic City” changes in interior and exterior, to view if they are harming values of Macau World’s Heritage and find out the difficulties which they are facing in the development changes in Macau, judge the supervising system of World Heritage. Explore the relationship between Macau people and Macau World Heritage by researching population structure, history, culture, also the effectiveness and problems caused while government and non-Governmental organization are presenting world heritage.
According to the studies, Macau government still lack for cognitive in protecting world heritage even“The Historic Centre of Macao” has been listed on it for over ten years and the incomplete related policy on heritage protection and city development cause the conflict between heritage conservation and city development. Furthermore, change of public area in“The Historic Centre of Macao” do not have enough influence to make itself to be the outstanding universe value of world heritage. The skyline changes besides“The Historic Centre of Macao” harm their
outstanding universe value incurably and continuously in the future, on the contrary. Western cultural background of Macau world heritage can manifest its universe value on the stage of world history, but it cannot reflect Macau history for its major Chinese culture. Macau people do not include much emotion, memory and recognition towards it and connection between them are not firmed.
Ever after Macau became world heritage city for over ten years, the related policies of Macau world heritage are still not completed, protecting conscious of heritage is not well spread in Macau and the harm to Macau world heritage with tall building still exist. Although we cannot deny the effort of Macau work in the past ten years, we must learn from these experiences and lay the foundation for Macau world heritage work in the future.
