| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 經濟學系 === 105 === The purpose of this thesis is to discuss the realationship between corporate governance and the performance of Taiwan semiconductor packaging and testing industry .first, we establish the stochastic distance function method to analyze the technical efficiency of Taiwan semiconductor packaging and testing industry. Second, the corporate governance variables are included in the technical inefficiencies for one-stage estimate. The purpose of this study wants to know: (1) the use of stochastic distance function method for Taiwan semiconductor packaging and testing industry technical efficiency of the performance evaluation.(2) analyze the relationship between corporate governance and technical efficiency, and to verify the relevant hypotheses.(3) compare the financial ratio with the technical efficiency, to identify the Taiwan semiconductor packaging and testing industry which have better performance and poor performance ,besides, explore the factors that affect the efficiency .
The empirical results show that: (1) the technical efficiency of the listed companies will be higher than the OTC company, both engaged in the packaging and testing business which performance will be better than which only engaged in the packaging business or only engaged in the test business.(2) When the size of the board of directors of Taiwan semiconductor packaging and testing industry is higher, the lower the number of external directors and the chairman is also the general manager will also make the company have higher operating performance.(3) listed companies, the use of vertical integration business model, with high foreign capital ratio, large scale and higher salary of the packaging and testing manufacturers, its technical efficiency and financial performance are more ideal.
In 2015, the top ten packaging and testing companies in Taiwan ranked, the top five manufacturers operating income accounted for 83% of Taiwan's total packaging and testing plant revenue , the top ten manufacturers operating income accounted for 94% ,industry concentration is obvious. This phenomenon also shows that the scope of packaging and testing business more and more widely, and there have been squeeze small manufacturers living space situation, Taiwan second and third line packaging and testing firms without master the unique niche products or strengthen the advanced packaging and testing capabilities , In the future to be in the packaging and testing industry will become increasingly difficult to survive.
