The case study is Atayal tribe in Fu-Sing District, and Atayal tribes in their own cultural awareness of ecological wisdom and land use rationality. The adoption of Atayal people’s traditional ecological knowledge help them to survive more than hundred years. They have excellent adaptability and resilience to the slope land environment, in order to achieve climate disaster adaptation. The research is based on qualitative method to understand the relationship between traditional ecological knowledge and land use following the concept proposed. To clarify the current situation and dilemma of the climate disasters faced by the Atayal tribe in the Fu-Sing District.Under successive different ruling regimes, has been instituted upon the Atayal traditional social system, culture as well as the natural environment. Among all the changes, the most important one is the change of land use pattern. In order to adapt to the current fixing private land ownership, indigenous people has to adopt many adjustment for the land using. The study found that traditional land using culture in the modern indigenous people's life, will be able to maintain local culture, socio-economic and environmental conservation, and help to combat the challenges of climate disasters.
