Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 藝術與造形設計學系碩士班 === 105 === Abstract Abstract painting is similar to music without lyrics; it is a colorful symphony, containing an extremely lush life. In order to prevent the works from being too tacky, the author, who focused on realistic paintings initially, turned to the creation of “poetic imaging paintings”, transforming the originally realistic composition into abstract composition and color blocks, and expressing the impression from past travel experiences. Rather than cold and lifeless symbols, the abstract ideas that the author would like to express are a kind of organic composition that can arouse the audience’s familiar, friendly and life-experience related poetic association. Artist Chen Hsien-Tung’s poetic style of painting has drawn much attention and concern from domestic and foreign art circles, and the author has been deeply moved and inspired by his works. Chen’s technique of ambiguously poetic image is the main reason that he is beloved, and is also the ideal that the author desires to achieve. Some elements of his creation are derived from the landscapes in his hometown, Hainan Island, while the author prefers landscapes with water features, such as the sea, lakes and water reflection, and often transforms these elements into an important content of the creation due to past travel experiences. In this study, the author’s creation context of poetic imaging paintings has been explored, which includes the “painting in poetry” idea in Chinese literati paintings, the theory of Western abstract expressionism, and the contemporary Taiwan painters. Moreover, the author’s art learning process, creative motives and ideas have also been explained. Keywords: poetic image, painting in poetry, literati painting
