His works covered a broad category including poetry, prose, fieldwork, literary essays, literary research, lyrics, penmanship, and paintings. The 13 published books described countryside landscapes in old Puli Township and displayed memory of homeland and folk customs by prose, poetry, and paintings. In addition, Hao Wang devoted his whole life to campaigning for the spread of homeland and folk cultures. He founded the Arts and Crafts Store that is the first spontaneous group for cultural workers in Puli, promoted a lot of art and culture publicity, designed a plan of activity, and proposed a slogan for industrial tourism, that is what it means to incorporate cultural and creative industry in. Hao Wang proceeded with cultural exploration and literary works for 50 years by deep investigation in Puli. His works were constructed with localized culture contents through the practical experience of indigenes that was transformed life memory into cultural property, and contained spatial contexts with its history, culture, and society in Puli. The “locality” is the most important feature in Wang’s artistic creation. For the crumbling homeland and folk cultures, he always proactively took participation in cultural documentary and preservation, and passed down by cultural activities to reconstruct folk cultures and old customs of residents living in Puli. Notably, his works had an individual's unique style, and his literary achievement exceeded in hometown affection. This study not only emphasizes the value and significance of Hao Wang’s creations, but also praised his belief and practice in traditional cultures. Through his works, we can attach great importance to the historical heritage and cultural property from ancestors, and make it more rich and complete in Taiwan’s local literatures and folk cultures.
