Methods: A total of 143 males and 183 females with an average age of 21.15 (± .078) years were selected as the subjects of the ball team project of group A in domestic universities. In this study, the intrinsic motivation subscale, the perceptual coach's leadership behaviors scale and the coach-athlete relationship scale were used as the questionnaire contents, and the SPSS statistical software was used to analyze the narrative statistics. Amos Assume the model for statistical analysis. The results of the study show that the coach's leadership behaviors significantly predicted the coach-athlete relationship; the coach-athlete relationship significantly predicted the athlete's intrinsic motivation. After the Bootstrap technique is used to estimate the mediating effect of the coach-athlete relationship, it shows that the coach's leadership behaviors indirectly promotes the athlete's intrinsic motivation through the coach-athlete relationship, and the coach-athlete relationship played total mediation effects were witnessed between coach’s leadership behaviors and intrinsic motivation. Finally, according to the results of this study on the practical application of the proposed exercise coach in training, it is recommended to show more training and guidance behavior and positive feedback behavior to promote the coach-athlete relationship in order to further enhance the athlete's intrinsic motivation.
