Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 社會與區域發展學系碩士班 === 105 === Body shape is one of the critical criteria for going mates with men or women, and also is the chance for chossing mates. Within the market of marriage, individuals who possess relevant superiorities in mating with someone would set rigorous threshold to filiter potential suitors. The samples of the study are collected from the marriage websits in China, selecting the samples who come from Guangzhou and Shenzhen with college and university education. The samples embrace two groups, which are the unmarried men between 28y-31y and the unmarried women between 28y-31y; all two groups are also controlled within the conditions that the heights of men are 160cm-180cm whereas the heights of women are 153cm-173cm. The study is to discuss whether the threholds of mate preference would be systematically modified when personal heights and BMI increase.
The results are as follows: 1. No matter in Guangzhou or Shenzhen, personal income would increase when the heights of men and women increase. 2. Women in Guangzhou and Shenzhen would increase their mate critiria in upper limits of age, heights, and lower limits of heights, income when their heights are increased and in the meanwhile, women’s personal income would be increased as well; contrastly, men in Guangzhou and Shenzhen would increase their mate critiria in upper limits of heights and lower limits of heights and personal income when wheir heights are increased. 3. The effects of the rates of BMI would much more affect to the men and women in Shenzhen than the mena and women in Guangzhou in personal income. 4. The mate conditions in upper limits of age and lower limits of income would be declined when the women’s BMI increase; the mate conditions in lower limits of heights woule be increased whren the men’s BMI increase.
