Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 社會與區域發展學系碩士班 === 105 === The study aims at exploring the effect on Taiwan folk story picture books which used for the homeland education of the second grade elementary school students. Our study implements a quasi-experimental research method with nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group. The subjects are the second grade elementary school students in Taipei City.
The experimental group was composed of 23 students whom were taught the Taiwan folk story picture books experimentally for 6 weeks. Instruments used to analyze the different scores between two groups were “local knowledge test” and “local attitude scale” with pre-and post-testing as well as One-way Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). This study gathered multiple qualitative data to analyze the opinions of the students in the experimental group and the introspection of the teacher during the experimental instructing process, including the subject feedback sheets of picture books on Taiwan folk story teaching, student interview records, subject worksheets, the researcher’s teaching journal of self-reflections, and the teaching observation records.
The major findings of the study were manifested as follows:
1、Taiwan folk story picture books are suitable for homeland education.
2、The experimental group that received Taiwan folk story picture books teaching performed better on local knowledge than those in control group.
3、The experimental group performed better on local attitude than those in control group.
4、The teaching of Taiwan folk story picture books on homeland education was remarkably recognized and approved by the experimental group.
5、The introspection and self-development of the instructor from the teaching of Taiwan folk story picture books was profoundly increased.
Based on these results, suggestions were offered for the reference along the research line of the related instructions and future studies.
