In order to understand the feeding preference of green turtles, this study used the stomach contents of the dead turtle to carry out their feeding choices. The death of the green turtle in the anatomy, the collection of gastric contents and classification of identification, will be different types of items stored separately, and record the anatomical date, turtle zigzag straight length. Samples were collected from January 2013 to September 2016. A total of 92 dead green turtles were collected in the city of New North, Keelung, Yilan and Hualien counties, and 29 of them collected stomach contents And analyzed. In the analysis of gastric contents, algae found 74%, animal tissue 6%, artificial 16% and other 4%; in weight percentage, algae accounted for 99%, animal tissue accounted for 1%, artificial <0.1% And other <0.1%. The results show that the northern Taiwan coastal green turtle is preferred to eat algae. In the algae project, 81% of the red algae, said the green turtle preferred to eat red algae. The relative importance of the results shows that the spray algae is the most important feeding choice for the green turtle. This study also records the green turtles will occasionally eat cephalopods, jellyfish and fish and other animal tissues. In the course of the investigation, also found in the stomach contents of hard plastic, soft plastic, nylon, plastic rope, fishing line, cotton and artificial sponge and other man-made, that habitat in the northeast corner of the green turtle, The In other projects also found in small stones, shell fragments, etc., said the green turtle will be benthic foraging. This study is helpful to understand the main choices of feeding in the northern Taiwanese green turtles, for future scientific reference of ethnic groups.
