Abstract
This study points out the specific spirit and connotation of educational love by using the post-modern view to re-hermeneutic. It reviews the history of education in Taiwan by historical research method, seeking the Taiwanese educators who have re-hermeneutic of educational love. Finally, This study responds to Taiwan education policy on teacher training program which doesn’t pay enough attention to the issue of educational love. This study aims to emphasize the importance of re-hermeneutic of educational love that modern teachers should be used as a learning object, and hopes someday it can initiate a discussion when people talk about the education reform in Taiwan.
There is a very special historical background in Taiwan. Under the control of different regimes, Taiwan education is often the main means of government control of the people. By suppressing the different sounds of teachers and students, the power of bullying the weak situation is extremely obvious. If political forces enter the campus, teachers should use their own educational love to insist on a sense of justice. It rather than choose to ignore or help for abuse. Therefore, the first focus of this study is to explore the importance of the re-hermeneutic of educational love. The society emphasis on the transformation of justice in Taiwan, so that teachers should improve in their own quality. Education can not go back but forward and be the accessory of political power in Taiwan.
This study found that Taiwan teachers in the era of authoritarian reason to choose to ignore some unjust things, mostly because if choosing to resist, may even their own life and safety will be threatened. Fortunately, there are still a small number of educators who have the “educational love”. They are willing to encourage for students for fighting injustice and maintain fairness and justice. Even the number is few, but it greatly changed the future of education history in Taiwan. Therefore, the second focus of this study is to praise the educators who have been remarkable and respectful on the history of education in Taiwan, and hope the educators at present and in the near future should be used their examples as models in their careers.
By re-hermeneutic the view of educational love, this study rethink the problem that teacher training in Taiwan which doesn’t pay enough attention to the issue of education love. The reason is that the educational administration merely just wants technical success quickly and short of long-term planning vision. The writer of this paper reminds that re-hermeneutic of educational love must be a required and prescribed subject in the curriculum of teachers training, and the accomplishment of humanistic care will reverberate in the educational environment of Taiwan.
