Then the researcher used the action research to investigate the effectiveness of the students’ reading comprehension ability in English and the change of the reading motivation in English. The researcher collected both qualitative and quantitative information from 26 seventh-grade students in junior high school. The instruction conducted for one month, five sessions per week. The researcher collected qualitative and quantitative data through Motivations for Reading Questionnaire, reading comprehension tests, story map worksheets designed by the researcher, classroom observations, and the researcher’s reflections. The results of this study were summarized as following: 1. Integrating comics into English reading instruction can promote seventh-grade students’ reading motivation in English. 2.
