Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify and describe the followings:
1. The legal knowledge and the trust of the judiciary system of junior high school students in New Taipei City.
2. The differences among the students' backgrounds (including gender, grade, family socioeconomic status, parental discipline, experience as a class leadership, and frequency of watching news).
3. Further, to explore the relativity between the legal knowledge and the trust for the judiciary systems.
In order to investigate the above, the study tool "A questionnaire of the junior high school students for the legal knowledge and the trust of the judiciary systems", has been modified by the researcher based on the research purpose. The research method is stratified purposive sampling and the subjects are 440 junior high school students included seventh, eighth, and ninth graders. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics of SPSS 22, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheff’s post hoc method, and Pearson correlation analysis.
The results of this study were shown:
1. The overall level of the students' legal knowledge is poor, the variance analysis between junior high school students' backgrounds and their legal knowledge shows that there are significant differences in "grade", " family socioeconomic status", and "experience as a class leadership". Meanwhile, ninth grader is better than eighth and seventh、the high family socioeconomic status is better than others、being the leaderships is better.
2. The students' trust for the judiciary systems is at mid degrees, there are significant differences in the parental discipline and the democratic parenting type is better.
3. The relevance between the junior high school students' legal knowledge and the trust for the judiciary systems shows positive correlation.
