Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 體育學系碩士在職專班 === 105 === Purpose:Among Taiwan’s fifteen delimited school districts, eleven of them take physical fitness into the ranking system over the examination-free admission program, while only four school districts still don’t. Whether to include physical fitness into the ranking is an issue worth discussion. Therefore, the paper aims to figure out the effects on the physical fitness performance of junior high school students in different school districts using ranking with or without physical fitness. Methods:The study focuses on students of the 100th academic year, dividing them into two groups, one in school districts, which include physical fitness and the other in school districts, which exclude physical fitness. Moreover, the study also collects data of students’ physical fitness performance in the 100th and 102nd academic year and further analyzes the data by way of the statistic method, Two-way Mixed Design Anova , α=.05. Both two factors are used in the study to examine whether there will be any effects on students’ physical fitness performance. Result:First, both boys and girls in school districts using physical fitness in the ranking perform better only in sit and reach test and cardiovascular endurance. As a whole, there is no significant difference (p>.05) between school districts using physical fitness and those not using it. Second, girls’ performance in Body Mass Index, sit and reach test, standing long jump, and sit-ups exercises shows great growth year by year. Similarly, boys’ performance in Body Mass Index, sit and reach test, standing long jump, sit-ups exercises, and cardiovascular endurance also has the same tendency as girls’. They all have better performance than the time prior to the policy. Conclusion: Due to the external incentives of inclusion of physical fitness, students in school districts adopting physical fitness all perform better than the time before the implementation of the policy. Although some parts of the cities do not take physical fitness into the ranking, they all take physical fitness policy as a key evaluation item. Accordingly, there is no significant difference in school districts either adopting physical fitness or not.
