Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 國語文學系中國文學碩士在職專班 === 105 === The thesis aims at analyzing "Sungkyunkwan Romance", a novel about a female cross-dressing as a male attending school and then falling in love, which is similar to the Chinese legend, "The Butterfly Lovers", also known as "Liang Zhu". The cross-dressing and being influenced by Confucianism are worth discussing. The introduction presents the research motive, methods and research discussion about related documents. In terms of the extrinsic study, it discusses the background, the tenor and the subject matter. The story is set up in the ruling period of Jeongjo of Joseon when Confucianism was spread into, so the Chinese imperial examination system and Chinese classics existed. The subject matter is from an online novel. The plot is similar to "Liang Zhu" and spread to Korea, which makes the reason for discussing the Korean "Liang Zhu". Chapter three, the plot and the characters, analyzes the similarities and differences of "Sungkyunkwan Romance" and "Liang Zhu" and compares with the Korean drama "Sungkyunkwan Scandal". It discusses the differences of the novel and the drama and discusses female and male roles. Chapter four discusses the meaning and purpose of the female cross-dressing as a male and analyzes the purpose and external and internal cross-dressing. Chapter five discusses the Confucian Korea under the influence of Confucianism. The conclusion researches into the different modern and ancient narrating arts and the mutual influences of characters and the plot. In addition, it is found that the cross-dressing has its meaning instead of the typical motive and purpose. With the Confucian Korea under the influence of Confucianism, it discusses how ethics integrates into modern social life. It is hoped that constructive opinions would be proposed by future Taiwanese literature works and entertainment industries. Besides, there is one more opportunity to survey human existence. Through Confucianism, ethics is hopefully presented in more literature and drama works.
