Summary: | 博士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育學系教育經營與管理碩博士班 === 105 === The purpose of this study aimed to investigate the transformative learning of the leaders’ behavior in non-profit organizations, taking the school, Bliss and Wisdom Education Park (BWEP), as the object of this study. The study focuses on the leaders’ behaviors in the school, Bliss and Wisdom Education Park, and the transformative learning during the leading processes. It investigates (a) the leader’s ideas about leading this case-study school, (b)the leading behaviors, (c) obstacles the leader encountered, and (d)the process and effectiveness of the transformative learning. This may improve the learner’s relative knowledge in non-profit organizations and supplement the lack of relevant literature.
This study adopts the case-study method and collects the data by doing interviews and analyzing the documents. The conclusion is abstracted as below:
(1) The leading concepts of the school, BWEP come from the Lamrim preached by the founder venerable Ri-chang as standards, applied in daily life.
(2) The leading ideas of the school, BWEP, include: (a)the education of upgrading mind and spirit, (b)building an upgrading team with harmony, (c)offering service or help to others,(d) caring education, (e)looking at others’ merits and virtues,(f) the circle of benevolence, and (g)setting a role model.
(3) The leader of the school, BWEP, equally emphasizes on what they learn and on what they behave. It is named the leading behavior of “Understanding and Doing.”
(4) The conditions/obstacles that the leader of BWEP has encountered are divided as:(a)Each other’s opinions are too strong to get agreements , (b)There are lots of difficulties and problems in communication, and (c)The executive business are unable to be promoted and advanced “.
(5) When the leader of BWEP faces the obstacles, he
would adopts the transformative learning concepts, such as (a) Considering the group motivations of Bliss & Wisdom (BW), (b)Being a role model in the leading process, (c)communicating and negotiating with sincere continuously, (d)Accompany and waiting, and (e) praying for a good smooth and satisfactory, as the strategies to cope with them.
(6) During the transformative process undergone by the leader of BWEP, the leader learn to solve problems with new concepts after removing the old frames of learning. He abandoned his insistent concepts and turns to realize the true meaning of life. The effectiveness of these changes are (a) reinforcing learning and growth, (b) combining life and practicing Buddhist rules and (c)experiencing the true meaning of life”.
The result in this study provides related suggestions for training and cultivating the leaders of non-profit organization and further uses in the future.
