The aim is to discuss the possibility of applying the draft of the lesson plan for “creative drama” into the teaching of a history course in elementary school. With the thematic teaching of creative drama, the research emphasizes inspiring the students’ multi-sensory experiences gained from learning by doing. Moreover, the three activities: history drama scripts for children, drama education activity, and drama guided tour are introduced throughout the lesson after stepwise design, arrangement, and integration. From the pre-test and post-test results, it was affirmed that the above method can inspire the students to have an interest in learning history and express their viewpoints on history, which in turn can cultivate the students’ ability to think about historical facts independently and possess an historical thinking skill.
