Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 國語文學系碩士班 === 105 === Hsu Tse-Mon (Hsu) and Chen Chih-Fan(Chen) had went into University of Cambridge. While their education in Cambridge, they had written many works to describe their deep impression of Cambridge. However, these two writers have distinguishing decribing features especially in presenting contents and characteristics. These differences based on not only growing backgrounds in tradicitional era, but also on different concerning focuses. This study has analyzed these two writers’ historical footmark and memories about culture in their creations by applicating Cultural Geography (Mike Crang) and Topology(Miller). By document analyzing , comparing and inducing, this study has Hsu’s and Chen’s understanding of Cambridge from three aspects: learning experiences, social lives and writing features. Furthermore, their knowledge of Cambridage in scenery, freedom of education, and scientistic spirits. Under the same circustances of being lonely and homesickness, Hsu and Chen were both aspired by cultural influence gradually. During the time of traditional education displines at that time, the two writers had worries and painly reflection. These worries and reflection were also reflected in their writing creations. Therefore,this study has further investigated the interconnection of Hsu’s and Chen’s works. The connection among the scenery of Cambridge and writing creations, and thread of thought while writing, interconnection of their own writing works had been decribed in this study.
