In this thesis, a MATLAB/Simulink program embedded in a solar power experiment system with voltage and power monitoring ability is developed to study the effect of partial shading on solar PV panel performance. Based on the study results, the information to determine if the system efficiency is in a normal condition, or is interfered by the external factor is provided for the convenience of operator to recovery the system’s efficiency by quickly eliminating the detected disturbing situation.
