You Xue Qiong Lin had been done by CHENG,DENG-JI toward the end of Ming dynasty and had its complement of context by ZOU,SHENG-MAI at the beginning of Qing dynasty. You Xue Qiong Lin consists of four parts and 33 titles, which are Astronomy, Geography, Times, Courtesy Titles in Palace, Official rank, Officer rank, Parenthood, Siblings, Husband and Wife, Unclehood, Teacher-Pupil Relations, Friendship, Marriage, Ladies’ Manners, Family in Law, Honorific, Bodies, Clothes, Human Relations, Food, Architecture, Handcrafts, Jewelries, Haves, Funeral, Masterpieces, Imperial Examination, Living Skills, Experts and Masters, Laws and Penalty, Buddhism and Taoism, Animals ,and Blossom and Plants. Although You Xue Qiong Lin contents the most frequently used words, the story-quoting idioms, and many-level knowledge, this traditional culture declined with the coming of western learning.
This study revealed how important the education was and reflected how inappropriate the ethics was. This thesis discussed the mentioned aim into 6 parts. The first part, introduction, described the motivation and the problems, reviewed the papers and current studies, and showed the materials and the thesis structure. The second part introduced the author and his concepts of writing You Xue Qiong Lin. The third part aimed to the relationships between parents and children, and showed the importance of the duty on children to parents. The fourth part was about marriage and the siblings was discussed in the fifth part. The last part elaborated the significance of the family ethics on enlightening children. Besides the ethics of Confucianism, You Xue Qiong Lin also included the concepts of the Mohism, the Taoism, and the Legalism. Due to the facts mentioned, it was worth to study the various aspect the ethics in You Xue Qiong Lin.
