Europium-doped Ca(Ti,Zr)O3 were prepared by a sol-gel method and annealed at 800°C in O2. The structure and particle size were investigated by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). The XRD results show that the particle size is dependent on the Ti/Zr ratio. The extended x-ray absorption fine structure results show that Zr and Ti are in similar chemical environments. The Eu L3-edge EXAFS result exhibits reduced symmetry when Zr dopant atoms are present in the CaTiO3 host structure.
