Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 幼兒教育學系碩士在職專班 === 105 === The research aims at investigating preschool children’s healthy body sizes, as well as the five core behaviors for healthier body sizes in Central Taiwan. It reveals the key factors showing the predictability and differences of the five behaviors by analyzing the backgrounds among children.Conducting questionnaire survey as the main research method, self-made questionnaires were given to 1,050 children of either municipal or private registered preschools in Central Taiwan, in stratified random sampling of which 929 were proven valid samples. Adopting descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, independent-samples t-test, one way analysis of variance and stepwise multiple regression analysis, it concludes that:
.The majority of (70.2%) children body sizes in Central Taiwan falls in a moderate range. Obese children account for 12.8%, overweight 10.5%,underweight6.5%.
.Rating the five core behaviors for healthier body sizes, the children in Central Taiwan behaves the best in “The behavior of using 3C products”, the second best being “the behavior of consuming water, sugary drinks and snacks”, the third “the behavior of proper sleeping and sleeping quality”, the forth “The dieting” and the last “The exercising”.
.The body sizes of children in Central Taiwan varies explicitly to their “place of living” and “education background of the main guardians”.
.The overall performance of the five core behaviors for healthier body sizes among the children varies explicitly to “the age of the children”, “place of living”, “body sizes”, “education background of the main guardians” and “monthly family income”.
.In predicting the performance of the five behaviors, “the age of the children”, “place of living”, “body sizes”, “education background of the main guardians” and “monthly family income” are the factors showing certain degree of predictability.
