Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 諮商與應用心理學系碩士班 === 105 === The purpose of this study was to understand attachment style and care burden of caregivers of cancerpatients. Issues to be addressed include the caregiving experience of cancer, attachment styles, care burden, and attachment styles on the burden of care.The researcher used qualitative research content analysis method with semi-structured in-depth interviews.Three cancer caregivers were invited to participate in the study, and the transcripts were transcribed as a major source of data for analysis. The results were as follows:
1.Caregivers of cancer patients’ experience include: (1) check the diagnosis period was full of extreme anxiety and fear; (2) together with the patient facing the torment and disquiet of the treatment period; (3) in cure tracking period, caregivers began to accept the impermanence of life and learning to live in the moment.
2.Attachment styles for caregivers of cancer patients include: (1) the caregiver of the secure attachment style believed that support for each other could help survive (2) the caregiver of the dismissing attachment stylemaintained reliability of herself(3) the caregiver of the preoccupied attachment stylewere eager to be closer in the relationship with the patient.
3.Care burden for caregivers of cancer patients include: (1) the pressure due to the different perceptions of care between caregivers and patients; (2)care of the task caused by life changes and adjustments;(3)the stress and burden of the caregiver's own perception; and (4)embraced the positive beliefs and the availability of support systems were sources of caregiver power.
4.The effect of care burden on the attachment style included: (1) the interpretation of the care; (2)feel the burden of care.
Finally, based on the results of the study,the researcherproposed some suggestionsfor caregivers of cancer patients, help workers, and future studies.
