Among those people with different personality traits, what are their ideas of sportsmanship? How are their personality traits related to moral disengagement in sport? Since athletes have different interpretations and purposes for games, is their moral disengagement affected by their own personality traits or other factors? This study investigates the relationship of moral disengagement in sport and personality traits. The subjects in the study were students from college of sport education and college of sport performance, National Taiwan University of Sport. The questionnaire used as a research tool consisted of basic information, moral disengagement in sport, and Big Five personality traits. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, T-test, F-test, correlation and regression analysis. The results show that moral disengagement is strongly negatively correlated to agreeableness, conscientiousness, and extraversion, weakly negatively correlated or not correlatedto openness, positively correlated or not correlatedto neuroticism; males are more likely to be morally disengaged than females; females tend to be conscientious and neurotic; people who play contact sports are more likely to be morally disengaged than people who play non-contact sports. The Big Five personality traits can be a predictor of moral disengagement in sport. Improving thesportsmanship of neurotic athletesis beneficial to games’ quality and overall improvement of sportsmanship. TSAI,CHUN-CHIEH WU,HUNG-WEN 蔡俊傑 吳鴻文 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 68 zh-TW
