Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北護理健康大學 === 護理研究所 === 105 === Emergency is an important role in emergency medical net to care acute and severe illness. In recent years, the rate of emergency visiting of cancer patients has increased, need to further explore the emergency visiting of cancer patients. The study used secondary data analysis from medical records, to explore the characteristics and risk factors of emergency reutilization in adult cancer patients. For emergency reutilization within 180 days after the first emergency visiting, explore the risk factor of emergency utilization within 30 days. The 745 samples from a tertiary hospital in northern Taiwan, with the ICD-9 International Classification Diagnostic of Cancer, had emergency records in 2015. Exclude death and unknown samples, 560 cancer patients had ER reutilization. The results showed that emergency visiting rate was 3.4% within 3 days, 13.6% within 4 to 30 days, 25.2% within 31 to 180 days from first emergency visiting. Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk factors for emergency reutilization within 180 days were received hospice, have intrusive tubing, who were receiving chemotherapy and active with a wheelchair. Risk factors of 30 days emergency reutilization were Charlson co-morbidity index greater than five, cancer treatment in other hospitals, the same complaint in two emergency visits. The results of this study suggest the need for persistent care and cross-domain co-morbidity in cancer patients. Expected to help clinicians develop the development of holistic medical care for cancer patients and provide a reference for future medical system development.
