Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東大學 === 社會發展學系碩士班 === 105 === The purpose of this study was to understand the status of students’ social skills and internet addiction in Kaohsiung elementary schools, compare the differences of students’ social skills and internet addiction with different background variables, and explore the related situations as well as students’ social skills and internet addiction.
The research took students in the elementary schools of Kaohsiung City in 2016 as subjects. The research used self-made “questionnaires of students’ social skills and internet addiction” to take samples by stratified cluster sampling. There were 513 effective questionnaires returned. Finally, all the received data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation, multiple stepwise regression analysis etc.. The conclusions were as follows:
1. The status of students’ social skills in Kaohsiung elementary schools showed middle degree. Among the social skills, “communication, self-expression ” was predominant and “self-monitoring” was not obvious.
2. The status of internet addiction in Kaohsiung elementary schools was not obvious. “Internet tolerance” was predominant and “personal interaction on the net” was trivial.
3. “Being respectful to other people” “Being a good listener and respond properly” “Being circumstantial” were their main skills of their social interaction.
4. “Audio-visual entertainment”, “making social connection” were the main purposes of using internet.
5. The eldest or the second female students among sublimes whose family structure is complete and disciplined by open-authoritative parents who have higher social financial status are more skillful in social interaction.
6. The youngest male students among sublimes whose family structure is not complete and disciplined by dictatorial-indulgent parents who have lower social financial status are more addictive to internet.
7. The elementary schools students in Kaohsiung City who had better social skills were tend to be less addictive to internet. The relation between “social skills” and “internet addiction” was the most significant.
8. Elementary schools students social skills could be a reference to predict students’ internet addiction. Among the social skills, “communication, self-expression” was more predictive to “personal interaction” in internet addiction.
Based on the research conclusions, the researcher provided some specific suggestions to the elementary teachers, schools units, parents and future researchers for references.
