The voltage withstanding grade of underground cable transmission lines is 25kV, and the XLPE insulating material single core power cable characterized by good electrical characteristic, mechanical properties, ozone corrosion resistance and chemical agent resistance form the underground distribution and transmission system of high stable power quality. This paper learns about the XLPE medium voltage power cable structure, the CB connection principle and characteristics, compiles the discharge theories and test methods in various references and gets acquainted with the operation of sampling instrument. The high frequency impulse signal generator is used for a simulated underground distribution and transmission CB system, and the self-made clamp core partial discharge sensor (HFCT) and oscillographLeCroy Wave Runner 610zi are used to analyze, judge, discuss and record the polarity, peak to peak value, rise time, duration, frequency and the sampling rates on the oscillograph. The results showed that the discharge pulse signal in underground coordinated transposition power transmission system R, S, T three-phase power cable, the waveform polarity and amplitude value of discharge pulse are obviously different from the phase waveform characteristics of the other two power cables. The flow direction of the discharge pulse signal of underground coordinated transposition power transmission system is searched for according to the waveform characteristics. The findings of the PD source location of three-phase CB underground distribution are expected to be used as important references for developing on-line monitoring fuzzy control system in the future.
