Grandparenting has been the phenomenon that needs to explore. The purpose of this study was to understand the correlation between grandparenting indigenous family and its life satisfaction. A qualitative questionnaire survey was conducted. Data from three dimensions, personal attitudes, family involvement, and social participation, were collected from resident at Jen Ai Township, Nantou County. A total of 296 effective questionnaires were gathered and examined by descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffle post hoc analysis. Results showed that (1) the satisfaction degree of the grandparenting indigenous family in Jen Ai Township is positive. The order of the high satisfaction degree ranged from family involvement, social participation, to personal attitudes respectively; (2) in terms of social participation, female’s life satisfaction was higher than male’s; (3) regarding personal attitudes, family involvement, and social participation, ages above 65 had the highest life satisfaction; (4) concerning social participation, financial status from 10001 to 15000 NTD showed difference; (5) personal attitudes, family involvement, and social participation of the grandparenting families indicated significance which explains their positive and affirmative life satisfaction. Lastly, this study proposed some suggestions to grandparenting grandparents, educational units, social organizations and our government in laying the groundwork for the related researchers. It is anticipated that life satisfaction of the grandparenting indigenous family may be more positive in the future.
