碩士 === 南開科技大學 === 福祉科技與服務管理所 === 105 === Breast cancer is ranked top 4th out of 10 leading causes of death in Taiwan and the incidence and mortality rate are getting higher and higher every year. In the literature review, women who took periodic inspection of mammography could not only reduce their expenses but also decrease the incidence and mortality rate of mammary carcinoma. This study aimed to explore the knowledge of breast cancer and behavioral intention of mammography which included benefits of action and barriers of action for middle-aged and elderly women in Nantou County in order to have earlier diagnosis and earlier treatment. This study was conducted by questionnaires on 242 middle-aged and elderly women. The data was analyzed by SPSS 22.0 and the results were shown as follows: （1） The participants had correct knowledge of breast cancer. （2） Some of the social demographic variables showed significant relevance with the barriers of action in mammography facet. （3） The knowledge of breast cancer and benefits of action of mammography were positively correlated. （4） Benefit intention and barriers of action of mammography were negatively correlated.
