Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 經學研究所 === 105 === Lanyu (Orchid Island) is a beautiful island, subjected to the Taitung County, including four villages, Iraraley, Iranmilek, Yayo, and Imowrod. The four villages divide into six tribes, Iranmilek, Ivalino, Imowrod, Iratey, Yayo, and Iraraley. For the limitation of climate and geography, the traditional main-houses in Lanyu are half-hidden in the ground to prevent the sandstorm and typhoon so that people should feel warm in winter and cool in summer. There are three kinds of architectural elements, the main-house (underground house), the tall part of the house and the cool platform to form the traditional houses in Lanyu. The main house is the place for living, the tall part of the house is for hand-making or food stored and the cool platform is an open place for chatting with friends. The cool platform and the tall part of the house are on both sides up the ground. Located in middle of the traditional houses, the main-house is built under the ground, surrounded by stone-steps to withstand chilly winds in winter. The traditional houses appear Yami ancestors’ talent in architecture according on local conditions. This unique cultural heritage needs to be protected, so the government must really develop the management plans to repair by traditional methods and further maintain
The Lanyu Houses, which had been in disrepair for years, were subsidized by the government. Several success cases got the tribes’ approval particularly like “ The Preservation and Recycling Programs of old tribes in Iraraley and Ivalino ” in 2009. Substantially restoring five traditional houses in Iraraley, the Yami made a progress in getting new concepts and putting them into practice. More people saw the good effects and were willing to join the rehabilitation projects. In 2015, the tribes seriously joined the rehabilitation and felt deeply that the traditional houses featured local culture was importance. Therefore, when the projects were finished, the old tribes style had been a great improvement and the past ambient atmosphere were reproduced in some areas.
“The maintenance and utilization plans of the traditional houses in Lanyu ” presided over by Lee Zheng-di, a professor of Institute of marine Affairs, College Marine Sciences in National Sun Yat-sen University. This program was approved by Lanyu Township Office in Taitung County in May 2015 and there were thirty-four houses in this contract. The reconstructed records were spread by ballads in early,
while following the progress of technology, by map, text and image in current. This paper recorded with image for the pictures of preconstruction, reconstruction and the completion. It is expected to leave more information on the maintenance of cultural asset, to increase the power for follow-up maintenance and to provide references for subsequent related proposals.
