In this article, the junior high school Taiwanese history textbook was taken as the basis research text to explore several conformation of history of Taiwan in different aspects of educational development, and the multiple forces that affect the presentation of its content. There are three major stages of development in Taiwan history education. The " Editorial Version " started in 1954, in this stage the right to edit textbooks is given to the central government. Since then the content of textbooks is controlled by the country for about 40 years. The history of Taiwan can only be fragments attached to "National history". For the first time to separate Taiwan history out into an individual book is in 1994 the "Eighty-Three Years Course Standards". 《The Understanding of Taiwanese History》 constructed full context Taiwanese history textbook and at the same time meant the change of official view of history. From 2000 to now on, due to the voice of folk education reform, the government promote nine-years of consistent education and to let available the nongovernmental people to edit textbooks. That was the start of "Verified Version". The Verified Version allows people to edit textbooks so Taiwan history education should be given more possibilities. The content should be pluralistic, to show the vitality of innovation in history. But according to my experience in class, the content of textbooks of several publishers are not only highly similar, but also has little difference to 《The Understanding of Taiwanese History》, which was edited 20 years ago, only modify the words and expand the contents. As a result, this article eventually hopes to clarify the possible factors of the current stagnation of Taiwan history education through finishing the development of Taiwan history textbook.
