Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 人力與知識管理研究所 === 105 === Currently the suggestions from parents and teachers are the basis of middle school students (MSSs) in choosing their career paths according to the students’ academic achievement and results from various of career surveys and questionnaires. However, it is possible that those career surveys may be outdated, the academic achienement and the career development patterns (CDP) may not correlated. Thus, researchers develop a new CDP survey for MSSs by intrgrating academic achievement, career interests, work values and multi-demension intelligence. The output of this new survey include 6 career patterns and 2 academic patterns. There were 548 MSSs participated in this study. Pearson product-moment correlation and t-test was used for data analysis. Based on analysis from student’s this new CDP survey and their routine tests, the following findings are concluded: (1) positive correlation is found in academic achievement between students’ test results and self-evaluation; (2) Gender plays no significant role in CDPs. Male students are superior vocational CDPs in Social, Enterprise, and Conventional. Female students are superior vocational CDPs in Research and Scientific; (3) Some students have one superior pattern (T>60) and some demonstrate 52.6% of students demonstrate superior career patterns, and 28.7% students demonstrate superior academic pattenrs; (4) No significant positive correlation is found between CDPs and academic achievement. The finding from this study confirm that the new CDP survey is suitable for the middle students. The finding can further provide valuable information for student counseling, and provide more effective suggestions for MSSs when choosing senior high schools or vocational schools.
