and School Effectiveness in Elementary Schools Teachers
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the path model among the principals' moral leadership behavior, school innovation, organization communication and school effectiveness in elementary schools . Furthermore, the study verifies the stability of the model.
A questionnaire survey is conducted. The first data obtained from 300 teachers are employed to test the reliability and validity of four scales. The second data from 910 teachers are meant to explore the differences between demographic variables and principals' moral leadership behavior, school innovation, organization communication and school effectiveness; in addition, they are used to construct and verify the path model.
The samples are collected and analyzed with instruments, including "Principals' Moral Leadership Behavior Scale”,“School Innovation Scale”,“Organization Communication Scale” and “School Effectiveness Scale”. Data are analyzed by exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), one-way MANOVA and structural equation modeling (SEM).
The major conclusions of the research are as follows:
1. The scales of principals' moral leadership behavior, school innovation, organization communication and school effectiveness were well.
2. The elementary school teachers 'viewed principals' moral leadership behavior, school innovation, organization communication and school effectiveness were above the medium level.
3. The principals' moral leadership behaviors differs in gender,job nature, school size and school area.
4. The school innovation differs in Year to teach, job nature and school area.
5. The organization communication differs in gender, job nature and school size.
6. The school effectiveness differs in gender , Year to teach and job nature.
7. Principals' moral leadership behavior in the aspect of reflect on progress through interviews with teachers and principals shows that there are differences, the need to strengthen communication.
8. The relationship between principals' moral leadership behavior and school effectiveness is mediated by school innovation and organization communication. Furthermore.
According to the findings and conclusions, the study proposes several suggestions for education authority, principals and administrators, elementary school teachers and future researches.
