碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 美術學系 === 105 === The thesis is divided into two parts, the fiﾞrst part is a narration of a story in an attempt to depicts the shift of Art history, which is based on the society from the 1980s ages to nowadays. From the embroidery industry experience of the author’s family of last generation and especially the mother, it is revealed the economic status of the textile industry in the declining stage and the changes of the knitting industry in Tainan Jiali region. The second part of the thesis mentions the research methods. The story develops with the age of the author’s mother increasing, revealing the change of textile industry in the society. Embroidery is a process after the textile manufacturing, which relies on orders from the downstream factory. For Shengxing embroidery factory, which was founded in the declining stage, and Jiahongju electronic embroidery factory, which is transforming, it is a huge challenge. The economic recovery after the World War II only started in the 1980s. The textile industry, as labor-intensive light industry and leading the economy of Taiwan, laid the foundation for garment OEM industry. Tainan Jiali with its location, has a huge impact on the settlements of the textile factories and the prosperity. In places which have the most intensive labors comes the capital. It’s also affected by society, geographical facts, and history. Jiahongju electronic embroidery factory was built in the declining stage of the industry, which is an example of the innovation from sewing machines to computer embroidery machines, the process from the rise to fall, and how the families were scattered because of the OEM industry. With the fading sounds of the machines, gets the industry silent with the once prosperity.
